LAPSE - A Los Angeles Timelapes
Over the past two years, I have been scouting, planning and shooting timelapse all around Los Angeles to bring you this short sequence entitled LAPSE.
As I have been photographing stills around the L.A. area for the better part of a decade, I thought it was time to bring some motion to the mix and create a short of all moving parts.
My goal two years ago was to learn the techniques of creating a timelapse and put together a short sequence leveraging some of my favorite locations in the L.A. area.
During this time, I spent many days and nights scouting, shooting, processing and reviewing. Many locations were shot several times as I became obsessed with capturing the correct light and environment for these locations.
After a year of shooting, I knew where the sequence was heading and began to shoot for the underlining story. L.A. seems to come alive at night. The lights migrate around its sprawling buildings, and roads tell their chaotic tale, but during the daytime, life becomes mellow.
